Aadvantages and Disadvantages of solar power

The use of solar power varies in so many ways from lighting, heating the air space at your home, heating water, operating appliances, cooking, producing water and much more.

It is created by using the sun and converting the sun into power by using photo voltaic technology. It is one of the cleanest sources of energy and it is also renewable energy source compared to fossil fuel which is depleting.

Here are some main advantages of solar power:

1. Since solar energy using the sun rays,  is considered very clean since we only need solar panels to absorb the sun rays and convert it to energy 
2. It cost much less to heat with, then using air conditioning. Using the power of the sun you can heat your water very easily (installing some solar panels in which you run the water you’d like to heat). By that you will also save a lot of money on your electricity costs 
3. For rural areas where there is no infrastructure for regular electricity lines, the use of solar power can be a great solution and much less expensive.

1. You need to get a lot of sun rays in order to make energy.

3. In very cloudy weather, the efficiency of the system is reduced dramatically (see our solar panels and cloudy days page). Clouds cover the sun and by that block the full use of the system to create power. 
4. There is sun only through the day. In night times there is not sun is unless you have a battery to store the excess capacity the system produce during the day, in night time there is a need to another system that will produce power. To summarize – Solar power is a great thing. It is free to use, it is clean and there are many other advantages but there are also some disadvantages. For each one of the disadvantages there is a solution that you need to apply.
