Homeowners will be able to receive a 30 percent tax credit up to $1500 towards purchases of energy efficient furnaces and air conditioners, windows and also insulation. Along with benefits for homeowners the $42 billion energy investment included in the economic stimulus package includes $20 billion portioned for "green" jobs. Makers of ‘green’ energy products such as solar panels, wind turbines and companies involved with bringing the green energy process into the computer age will benefit greatly. Another $5 billion will be put towards helping the poor and low-income homeowners of America make energy improvements to their homes. $2 billion will energize the research on batteries for future electric cars.
