Wind Energy facts
Using the wind means that you are using
the most cleanest renewable energy source
that we have on the planet. It is also considered the fastest growing energy domain and sector
The way wind is created is simply a byproduct of solar and heat. On Earth we have different surfaces that get
sun and more particularly heat of the sun. When it hits these surfaces, they are warming up in different degrees.
The air around these surfaces, also heat up in various rates, and creating the wind process. The same happened with
air above a lake, where the water heat up differently from the air above the ground next to the lake. In both
cases, the hot air rises up, allowing the cold air to step in instead. When this occurs, the movement of the air is
the one creating the wind. And this makes the best energy source exist

Since wind is a natural source it is considered one of the 5 basic renewable energy source we
have. Take a look on the following:
- There will always be wind. As long as there is sun and the process of air in various temperatures exist
we’ll have wind
- The use of wind exist from ancient times, when people just started to sail boats
- In order to grind grain, people used windmills already in ancient Persia.
- The American colonists created and built windmills in order to grind grain, cut wood and transfer
water
- In the early 20th century, windmills was the most dominant energy source in America
- Today, California is the biggest manufacturer and used of wind power. It produces more than double than the
any other state in US
- Today, there are two forms of windmills: vertical and horizontal
- When someone mention windmill you usually picture the horizontal type
- In US, there are more the 35 states that create energy from wind farms and sell it to utility
companies
- The biggest wind energy manufacturers’ states are California, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wyoming
- In the world, the biggest country that produces energy from wind is Germany. Germany is also very dominant
in making energy from solar power right before Denmark
